Calgary - It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our son, brother and father, David MacInnis, who passed away peacefully at his home in Calgary, Alberta on June 5, 2018.
Dave was born in New Glasgow on December 22, 1972 and grew up in both New Glasgow and Pictou, Nova Scotia. Dave was a graduate of Pictou Academy and Holland College. He left shortly after in 1992 for Ottawa where he began his 25 year career as an Orthodontic Lab Technician. For the past 7 years, Dave lived in Calgary working at Cory Liss Orthodontics where he made many friends and succeeded in his profession.
Dave had a zest for life, his family, and friends, and we loved him dearly. He was very proud of his precious daughter, Rebecca, and her many accomplishments. Dave loved sports and reading. He was a lifelong student, always searching for knowledge and excelling at each and every challenge he pursued. Dave was very friendly and outgoing and had a gift for making friends wherever he went and had a knack for making you smile.
Dave is survived by his beloved daughter, Rebecca Negus; his parents, Linda (Canning) and Rollie MacInnis; brothers, Jason MacInnis (Ashley Greening) and Jon MacInnis; sister, Betsy MacKenzie; nephew, Ethan and niece, Aubrey; cousin and close friend, Jody Canning; multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dave had a huge heart and we could always count on him to make us laugh; he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
