Beverley Henry “Bev” Patterson - 96, of New Minas, Kings County, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 in the Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building, Halifax. Born on November 9, 1921 in Greenwich Ridge, he was a son of the late John and Lillian (Hiltz) Patterson. Bev was a veteran of the Second World War, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville and a member of the New Minas Baptist Church. Bev and his wife, Mary Rosalie, moved to Annapolis Royal in 1947 where he was employed with the Canada Agriculture Entomological Laboratory. He is survived by a daughter, Anne (Bryson) Eye, Greenwich; two sons, Michael (Janet), Riverview, New Brunswick; Gregory (Susan), Dartmouth; a daughter-in-law, Shirley, Dartmouth; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Heather, Michelle, Marianne, Matthew, Joshua, Zachery and Ian; seven great grandchildren, Claire, Nathaniel, Georgia, Charles, Jackson, Carter and Bentley; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Rosalie, a son, Garth; two brothers, Ivan and Clifford; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Rosella; a granddaughter-in-law, Shannon. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018 with a Royal Canadian Legion service held at 7:00 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Daniel Cormier and Reverend Sterling Gosman officiating. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to New Minas Baptist Church the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
