It is with great sadness that we, the family of Charles Arthur McGuigan, age 53, announce his sudden passing on Monday, June 18, 2018, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines on August 23, 1964, he was the son of Marie (MacIntosh) McGuigan and the late Patrick McGuigan.
Charles loved the Lord and found great fulfillment in his service as Branch President for 15 years in Sydney and North Sydney Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He also served as the first president of the North Sydney Food Bank. His greatest joy in life was his family, whom he loved with all his heart.
Charles will be loved and remembered always by his wife of 33 years, Linda; his children, Charles Scott, Jenene (Thomas), Jessica, David (Katrina) and Jordan (Victoria). Also left to mourn are his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Eva, Lily, Maxim and Alice; his mother, Marie; sister, Rose (Elwood); brothers, Patrick and Kenneth (Rayalene); niece, P.J.; nephews, Townley, Patrick and Lyndon. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Mary Scott (Wendell); father-in-law, David Scott (Marie), and brother-in-law, John Scott (Kathy)
Besides his father, Charles was predeceased by his grandparents, Alan and Elsie MacIntosh, and Arthur and Rose McGuigan.
A celebration of Charles’ life will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 3 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, with President Robert Boutilier officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles’ memory may be made to Juvenile Diabetes.
