Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by his loving family, Christopher Michael Kavanagh of Flatrock, age 90 years. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Rebecca Kavanagh; brothers Gus, Mike, Edward, Jack, Dan and their spouses; brothers Thomas and Joseph; sisters Mary, Margaret and their spouses. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 64 years Madeline; daughter Mary Lou (Keith); sons Don (Paula), Joe (Sandra), Chris (Colleen), Ray (Jackie) and Stephen (Rosalind); 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends in Canada and the United States. Mourning, yet forever thankful for his devotion to faith and family. Dad was a talented musician and carpenter! He was known to many as “The Newfoundland Power Meter Man”! Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation on Wednesday, July 4th, 7-9 pm; Thursday, July 5th, 10 am - 1 pm and 2-9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place at 10 am on Saturday, July 7th, at St. Michael’s Church, Flatrock. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Flatrock. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Christopher’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, Flatrock, or a charity of one’s choice.
