Kevin John Percy “Joey” Fraser

Kevin John Percy “Joey” Fraser, (1953 – 2018) passed in Westville on Saturday, July 14th, 2018. Kevin was born in New Glasgow on May 25th, 1953 and from the age of 14 was raised in Hantsport N.S. He was a proud graduate of Acadia University where he first met his loving wife Anne. Kevin was the son of the late Marshall and Gladys (Higgins) Fraser. He is survived by his wife, Anne Armstrong, daughter Alexandria "Allie", sisters Marsha Brunette, (Regina), Cheryl Whytewood, (Pictou), and Donna Fraser, (Halifax) and mother-in-law Tillie Armstrong (Truro). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and their families, whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Whit Whytewood, Robert Brunette, and his father-in-law David Armstrong. Kevin was employed with Sodexo, where he spent the last fifteen years at Saint Francis Xavier University as the General Manager of Food Services. Kevin was also a well-respected basketball referee who officiated every level from minor to international games. Kevin was the consummate people person. Known for his quick wit, booming laugh and knee slapping, you always knew when he was in the room. He was happiest with Anne and Allie, walking the beach or sitting at the cottage surrounded by friends, family, and the dogs. There will be a celebration of life for Kevin on Friday July 20th, 2018 at two o’clock p.m. at 1st Presbyterian Church, 242 South Foord Street, Stellarton, N.S. with rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Kevin can be made to the Hantsport Food Bank, P.O. Box 728 Hantsport, N.S. B0P 1P0; Nova Scotia Cancer Society 5826 South Street Halifax, N.S. B3H 1S6 or charity of choice. Following the celebration, a reception will be held in the Church Hall.
