ROBICHEAU, G. William “Billy” – age 84, Pinkney’s Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 20, 2018. Born September 7, 1933 in Yarmouth, he was the son of the late John and Florence (Pierce) Robicheau. Billy was a retired fish cutter, having worked for Lawrence Sweeney Fisheries, IMO Foods and Hervic Enterprises. His passion was his family whom he loved dearly. Billy enjoyed camping at Belle Baie in the early years, hunting, fishing and playing cribbage. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life, Yvonne Surette; brother, Dickie Robicheau; sisters, Kitty Comeau, Isabelle O’Connell, Betty Baker, Gwen Phillips and a step-granddaughter in infancy. He is survived by his step-children, Mike (Joy) Surette, Melbourne; Wayne (Diane) Surette, Saint John, NB; Stephen (Jocelyn) Surette, Port Maitland; Dianna LeBlanc, Melbourne; Kevin Surette, Yarmouth; Milton (Susan) Surette, Darlings Lake; Douglas (Maureen) Surette, Staten Island, NY; ten loving grandchildren, Dana, Melanie, Vanessa, Matthew, Jordan, Jessie, Andrea, Heather, Travis and Taylor, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also left behind is his fur companion, Katie. He will be forever loved and always missed. The family would like to thank the home care workers who, over the past few months, have been providing him with a daily meal. We would especially like to thank his special friend and loving neighbour, Pam Holzapfel and her husband Wally for being there when he needed them and for their assistance on the day of his death. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth, where visitation took place from 7-9 Thursday and where a memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiated. Interment followed in Saint Agnes Parish Cemetery, Quinan. Donations in memory of Billy may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation.
