William Cecil Rose

Passed on: July 28th, 2018

It is with heavy hearts and deepest sorrow, the family of William Cecil Rose, 64, announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Northside General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. William was born in North Sydney, February 18, 1954 to the late Maurice and Cecilia ‘Sis’ Rose.
Dad loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and wife Kathy with every ounce of his being and was happiest when they all would gather. Dad loved to camp, play darts and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #018.
Dad was the strongest and most courageous man and always put up a good fight right until the very end of his painful battle with cancer. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was a gentle soul who just wanted to see his family happy. He loved his family dearly and has left a great void.
Dad will be forever and sadly missed by his loving wife, Kathy Rose (Ley) and his beloved children, Margie (George), Nancy (Brian), Wendy (Shawn), Melissa, Junior (Lisa), Kelsey (Greg) and Kayla (Jesse). He will also be missed by his grandchildren, whom he adored so very much, Shaylynn, Shelbylynn, Jeremy, Hailey, Erin, Austyn, Grace, Keke, Lucas, Ryan, Natalia, Isaac and Auley (Magoo) and his four great-grandchildren, Logan, Penelope, Elliot and Jordan. He will also be missed by his sister, Cecilia (Brian) and brothers, Joe (Pauline), Patti (Marjorie) and Tommy.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jane Rose; sister, Ann; brother, Bernie, and his precious granddaughter, Julia.
A celebration of Dad’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 31 at 3 p.m. in the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate.
Special thank you to his doctor, Dr. Kohlsmith, Palliative Care, Cancer Centre and all the amazing nurses along the way.
Messages and memorials may be directed to www.chantfuneralhome.ca.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Chant's Funeral Home.
Donations in Dad's loving memory may be made to the C.B. Regional Palliative Care Unit or the Cape Breton Cancer Centre.
