It is with great sadness that we, the family of Tina Fitzgerald, regret to announce the sudden passing of our Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Special Friend to all who knew her on July 28, 2018 at CBRH surrounded by her loving family. Born in South Harbour, Victoria Country, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Dixon.
She loved to bake for everyone, especially her homemade bread. She loved her bingo games and Chase the Ace. She was everyone’s friend.
Tina is survived by loving children, Glenda (Karl) at home, Stewart (Ella) and Colleen (Harry), as well as her niece who was beside her every day, who she looked at as a daughter, Liz Vincent; her grandchildren, Stephen, Ashley, Angie, Christina, Chantell, Parker, Billy, Angie and Shaine; her great-grandchildren, Riley, Tuscany, Lexie, Logan, Cohan, Dustin, Austin, Mylan and Hannah Leadie; her brothers, Lawrence and Louis Dixon; son-in-law, Donald Hawley; brother-in-law, Bernie Fitzgerald, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friends, Rose Fitzgerald and Bev Launay.
She is predeceased by her husband, Jim; daughters, Tina and Bernadette; brothers, Stewart, James and Charlie Dixon; sisters, Mary, Annie, Flora and Bridgette.
Visitation for Tina will take place on Wednesday, August 1 from 12-2 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. A celebration of her life will take place immediately following at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate.
