Teddy worked for many years at Imperial Oil in Sydney, as a Truck driver and later as an Independent Agent for Sydney West. When he decided to change careers, he went to meat cutting, doing the trade his father worked as, and taught him as a young man. Teddy was employed at the meat department at Ashby CO-OP for 25 years, in later years as meat manager. Dad and Mom lived in the Pier for over 45 years and after he retired, moved to their beloved Mira permanently. "The Mira" was such an important place as he lived there a few years and spent summers there as a child. In the 1960s they bought a bungalow on the Mira and continued the tradition with his own family, spending every summer there. There were many Sundays that friends and family came from Sydney to Mira, enjoying Mamie and Teddy's special place. It made for many special memories for all, and still is talked about today. There was always lots of food, laughs and drinks.

Teddy was a devoted family man, he loved his Mame and children. He passed along his special knowledge, skills and advice to all that knew him. He was always willing to lend a hand. In the last four years, he had lived at the MacGillivary Guest Home, where he enjoyed the care and kindness of staff who knew his love for all things sweet and chocolate! They always had a treat for Teddy. Our family would like to thank all the staff for their many kindnesses, their patience, and love for our dad. We know he was very special to many of you.

As per Teddy's wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s church, Mira Ferry at 11 a.m, Saturday, Aug 11th. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery with a reception to follow at Union Presbyterian Church Hall, Mira Ferry. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Alzheimer's Society of NS or MacGillivary Guest Home.

HERE TODAY AND GONE TO MIRA, love you, DAD
