Michael Francis (Frank) Dinn

Passed on: August 16th, 2018

It is with extremely heavy hearts we announce that Frank passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family, into the arms of our Lord on August 16, 2018. He is predeceased by his mother Alice, father William, step-mother Ellen, brother Austin, special nephew Christopher Dinn, father-in-law George Tobin, brothers-in-law Jim Knox and Cyril Wells, as well as other extended family members. Leaving to mourn and celebrate the life of this exceptional man is his wife Doreen, his children Andrea Pearce (Brad) and Stephen (Julie), as well as the special treasures of his life, his grandchildren, Madeline and Sam Pearce and Conor and Ava Dinn. Also leaving behind his brother Jerome (Bernadette) and sisters, Madonna Halliday, Shirley Worden (Chester), Barbara Dinn (Ron), Delores Wells and his in-laws, mother-in-law Eileen Tobin, sisters-in-law Brenda Temple (Dale), Sandra Knox, Pam Tobin (Gord Kelland), Anne Marie Healey (Joe), and brothers-in-law Glenn Tobin (Linda), Harold (Kathy) and Norman (Susan). Frank also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews, a large circle of extended family, and special friends. Aside from family, Frank’s other great loves were St. Pius X Parish and the Royal St. John’s Regatta. He volunteered many hours each week to the Parish and loved his time spent there. Frank was a loyal and dedicated Regatta Committee member since the late 1970’s and Regatta Day to him was the best day of the year, in his words, “Regatta Day is my day”. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Woodland, Frank’s trusted family physician, and the medical team who took such great care of him during his recent illness especially the Neurologists at the Health Sciences and the incredibly caring and compassionate team of nurses on 4 South B. We were so very fortunate to have had him in our lives for so long – for his love, compassion, loyalty, charm, humour, and guidance. He is off now on his journey to see his family that left before him, a journey he looked forward to and one he so richly deserves. Visitation will be held at Caul’s Funeral Home on LeMarchant Road on Saturday from 12-9 and Sunday from 2-9. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 20th at St. Pius X Church on Smithville Crescent at 9:30 am. Interment will take place immediately following at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Frank’s honour to The Gathering Place.
