It is with sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of William ‘Billy’ Young at his home in Sydney Mines on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 63 years of age.
The son of the late Janet Young (nee Smith).
Billy is survived, and will be dearly missed, by his brother, Robert, and his sister, Catherine, as well as nieces, nephews and many friends. As the oldest and the patriarch of the family, his presence will be missed.
Along with his mother, he was predeceased by his sister, Thelma, and brother, Johnny.
Visitation will be held at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 8 Clyde Ave., Sydney Mines from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday, August 22. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 23 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Sydney Mines with Rev. Marion Barclay-MacKay officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
