Scott Gregory Fleming

It's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Scott Gregory Fleming at the young age of 47. Scott was born on July 13, 1971 in the city of Toronto. Scotty, as many people like to call him, spent most of his younger years in the Northwest Territories in a little town called Pine Point. His Dad (Gregory) and Mom (Bernadette) moved there, along with many other family members, to pursue a career in Mining. Scotty spent most days dressed identical to his big brother Alvin, since they were often mistaken as twins being only 11 months apart. As the years went by and Scotty grew to be 15 years old, the family made the trek back to settle in Stephenville, Newfoundland, where he eventually met his beautiful wife, Bobbi Lee (Oxford). It was there also that younger brother Bobby would spend most of his time trying to escape the shenanigans of having two older brothers, something he and Bobbi Lee had in common, since she spent most of her time watching for the bus while her three older sisters finished their hair. It was also there Scotty would build many long lasting friendships, with too many names to mention, but all having a special place in his heart. His best friend Jason Dobbin however would be one of his closest, with many memories we know you will always hold near at heart. In 1998, he would change the life of a young lady by asking her out for a coffee. That girl would eventually become his wife in August of 2002. Scotty pursued a career in Civil and Safety Engineering Technology and eventually settled into a long career with the City of St. John's. He continued to build on friendships there and to this very day, have a wonderful and supportive work family. In saying all this, his most cherished and proudest accomplishments in life came with the creation of two beautiful children, Conor (11 years) and Reagan (10 years). With these two came many cherished relationships especially in the line of sports. To all those Hockey/Soccer Moms and Dads out there, hold your children tight and know you all have made an impact in our lives. The love and support you have shown us will never go far from us. These two children have an advantage in life already by having a foundation layed by one of the best, their Dad. Our little family will always be of four members, just with one member now living in our hearts. To the wife he chose, and now leaves on earth, there will be no other comparison. Gratefulness is all there is for choosing me for this journey. Rest easy now knowing that I will take it from here, as I promised you I would. Predeceased by grandparents: Brendon and Matilda Alexander, and Bernard and Margaret Fleming. Left with fond and loving memories his parents Greg and Bernadette; his brothers: Alvin (Colleen) with nephews Matthew and Andrew, and Bobby (nephew Grady and niece Rylie); and a special friend Jason Dobbin and family; his wife Bobbi-Lee (Oxford) and children Conor and Reagan; father and mother-in-law Conrad and Livie Oxford; sisters-in-law: Kim Mercer (Jeff), Rhonda Stone (Brian), and Kellie Burton (Munn); nephews and nieces: Tyler, Jenna-Lee, Nathan, Brianna, Alex and Jules.
