Francis James Ralph

Passed on: September 1st, 2018

Francis James Ralph, affectionately known as “Bush” passed peacefully away at his home in Long Pond, CBS on September 1st at the age of 80 years old. Predeceased by his parents Stewart and Christina Ralph, brother Maxwell Ralph, sister Barbara Miller and fishing buddy Bill Miller. Leaving to mourn brothers: William, Gerald (Deborah), Richard (Yvonne) and Fred (Glenys), sisters Elizabeth (Giggs) Ralph, Ollie Doyle (Gerry), Ruth Stafford (Carlz) and sister-in-law Grace Ralph. Bush leaves behind several nieces and nephews which were an important part of his life. He was an uncle who babysat his nieces and nephews, cooked them a meal on Sundays and found them something special on his bike journeys. Francis loved the outdoors, the trails of CBS and the rivers of Avondale, Holyrood and Salmonier. He would spend his days on his bike exploring the town’s trails or having a few flicks with his fishing pole on the local ponds. On the weekends, when he was able, Bush and his fishing buddy would challenge the salmon and trout of Avondale. Bush was a kind hearted man who loved his family, his pets, his community and the environment. A special thank you goes out to all the professionals who provided care to Francis through the years and in his final days in his home. The kindness of the homecare workers at provincial homecare will never be forgotten, Dr. Jardine, the community health nurses, and Eastern Health have provided nothing but the best care for our brother and uncle. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 6th from 7-9 and Friday, September 7th from 7-9 at Hickey’s Funeral Home in Kelligrews. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 8th at 11 at the chapel in Hickey’s Funeral Home. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory can be made to the SPCA.
