Travis Hayes

Passed on: September 2nd, 2018

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Travis Nathan Thomas Hayes, age 5, on Sunday, September 2, 2018. Born in Halifax, NS at the IWK on July 16, 2013, Travis was a kind, loving, and humorous little boy, who loved to spend his time with his family, friends and neighbors.
Travis left an impact on everyone he met, and he was known for his cute crooked smile. Travis loved to spend his evenings at the park with his uncle Kyle, sister, Abigail and best friend/cousin, Jax. Travis also enjoyed going to aunt Chelsea’s and uncle Cody’s hockey games with nanny and poppy. As much as Travis enjoyed going to see his teachers, while learning and playing with his friends at Peter Pan Daycare, he really looked forward to attending “big boy” school at Harbourside Elementary.
Travis will be forever missed by his loving mother, Crystal-Dawn Hayes; sister, Abigail Hayes-Floyd; father, Paul Hayes MacChesney; step-father, Clayton Robert Floyd; grandparents, Shirley Hayes, Tommy Cromwell, Lisa Floyd (Shaun), Ron Kauffman; great-grandmothers, Florence Hayes and Barbara Floyd; great-great-grandmother, Marie Floyd; uncles, Cody Cromwell, Jordan Butler, Matthew Roach and Jay Roach; special uncle/godfather, Kyle Baker (Mallory) and first cousin, Elliot; aunt/godmother, Alicia Morley; aunt, Shannon Greenwell and special aunts, Chelsea Cromwell and Chrissie Baker. Travis will be missed by several great-aunts, great-uncles, numerous cousins, and friends.
Travis was predeceased by his great-grandfather, Thomas Hayes; grandparents, Oretha Baker, Bernadette Cromwell and Paul and Jacqueline (Walters) MacChesney.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Saturday, September 8 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Reception to follow at the Whitney Pier Legion.
Memorials may be made to the Pediatrics/NIC units at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Words of comfort can be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or e-mail sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
