It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Viola O’Leary at home on Thursday, September 6, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Josephine (Smith) Reid.
She was employed as a CCA at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney for many years. She loved her family dearly, spending time with them making memories. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Viola is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Greg; her children, Tommy, Cathy (Clint) both of Reserve Mines, Patricia (Dan), Glace Bay; her precious grandchildren, Katlynn (Blair), Kerstin (James), Kelsey, Kristian, Samantha, Patrick(Jessica) and Tyler; her wonderful great children, Olivia, Zander and Kayden. She is also survived by her brothers, Tommy, Brian (Mevie), James (Sonya), Keith (Janice); sisters, Margie Brufatto, Diane (Terry), Roberts, Anita (Tom) McMullin, and Melissa Villa as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Norma Roper and a son, Edward in infancy.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 7-9 p.m. at the T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902849-4199)
A funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Parish, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, MacLeod’s Rd, Glace Bay. Reception to follow.
Donations may be sent to the Cancer Society.
