It is with heavy hearts and tremendous sorrow that we, the Joy and Mahoney families, announce the passing of a very dear man, Fred Joy, to enter into his heavenly home. Predeceased by his parents: John and Stella, brothers: Joey, Albert and Mike Joy, his mother and father-in-law Leo and Margaret Mahoney, brother-in-law Bob Hynes, sister-in-law Eileen Farr and his good pal Cheeko. Left without him is his wife Mary, daughter Jennifer (Ryan), son Frederick, cherished grandchildren: Abigail, Autumn, Serenity step-grandson Zeke, Fred’s brother Clarence (Pat), sisters: Marion Myers (Joe) and Lill O’Leary (Don), sisters-in-law: Carmel Joy and Ann Joy, brothers and sisters-in-law of the Mahoney family, his two pals Prairie and Gabe, many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends, especially a great neighbour and long-time friend Kevin Penney. Fred was a devoted member of the Ironworkers local 764 and leaves to mourn a large circle of brothers and sisters with whom he worked. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation on Monday from 5-9 pm and Tuesday from 1-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Hr. Main. Interment to follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Hr. Main. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA or to a charity of one's choice.
