It is with great sadness that the family announces her peaceful passing, surrounded by loving family, on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Maison McCulloch Hospice in Sudbury, Ontario.
Beloved wife of Ronald Billard predeceased 2003. Loving and devoted mother of daughters, Karen Mallet (Michel) of St. Charles, Donna Billard of Ottawa, Tracy Riddle (Michael) of Hanmer; son, David Billard predeceased 1994 (Maria née Zandri). Cherished and proud Nan of Sylvio Mallet of Ottawa and Janine Shyminsky (Devin) of Val Caron and adoring great-grandmother “GG” of Nico & Noah Girard also of Val Caron.
Daughter of Stanley & Clara Jackson (née Reid) both predeceased. Dear sister of Walter Jackson (Arlene) of Chilliwack, BC, Beverly Launay (Henry) of Sydney, NS, George Jackson (Claudette predeceased) of Richmond, BC, Jane Wilson (Billy) of Sydney Mines, NS and Judy Jackson predeceased (Wayne of Sydney, NS). She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gen loved music, theatre and playing cards. She was a proud member of the Northern Echoes Choir, and she worked at Sears for 21 years. Her infectious laugh will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home
(233 Larch Street, Sudbury) Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 2:30 p.m.
Friends may gather after 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with an interment alongside her husband in the Civic Cemetery.
Donations to the Kidney Foundation, Northern Cancer Foundation – Cancer Centre, The Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
