Passed on: September 13th, 2018

The world has been blessed to have Mary on earth for 99 years. Mary passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at MacGillivray Guest Home.
Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Margaret Ann (McNeil) MacCormick.
While working in retail, Mary was always fond of the outdoors – walking, skating or picking Mayflowers. She travelled out west to see the mountains and ended up in California for many years. Gazing upwards and seeing the stars was another passion of hers. Mary’s spirituality was broad; understanding guidance and peace has many expressions.
She is survived by her sister, Anna Ward; brother, Dr. Leo MacCormick and sister-in-law, Lorraine McCormick along with 30 nephews and nieces.
Mary was predeceased by sisters, Evelyn (Nelson) McKnight, Winnifred ‘Winnie’ McCormick and Josephine in infancy; brothers, James (Catherine), Austin (Clara), John (Olga) and Wilfred; brother-in-law, John Ward and sister-in-law, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ MacCormick.
The family acknowledges the care provided by the staff of MacGillivray Guest Home; through your efforts Mary had found another home.
Visitation for Mary McCormick will take place on Sunday, September 16 from 1- 4 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church with Fr. Dennis Lamey officiating. Reception to follow at St. Theresa’s Parish Hall. Interment at St. Theresa’s Cemetery to take place at a later date.
Family requests donations to MacGillivray Guest Home or charity of choice.
