HURLBURT, Michael James “Mike” - 59, Deerfield, passed away September 11, 2018 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, after a short battle with cancer. Born November 8, 1958 in Yarmouth he was a son to the late Lock and Eleanor (Burrill) Hurlburt. Mike worked out west for a number of years. He was a hard worker, but always made time for his family, whom he loved dearly. As one would say he would give you the shirt off his back. He had a great sense of humour, loved going in the woods, working on vehicles and keeping a clean, well maintained yard. One of his favorite pass times was spending time with Jaiden, Tristan and Ava. He also loved talking on the phone with Darrell and Paul. He is survived by his loving wife 29 years Linda (Wood); daughters, Jennaya (Branden Jarvis), Yarmouth; Jennifer (Adam) d’Entremont, Yarmouth; 2 grandchildren; brothers, William “Bill” (Donna), Pembrook; Frank (Rose), Hebron; Donnie (Liz), Carleton; Howard (Brenda), Deerfield; Charlie (Marilyn), Plaster Rock, NB; Brian (Denni), NB; sisters, Rose (Ron) Spencer, Kentville; Polly Hurlburt, Kentville; Jean (Kevin Amon), Digby; Marjorie (Kevin Robicheau), Kentville; brother and sister-in-law, Joanne and Mike Wood, Hubbard’s Point; father and mother-in-law, Peter and Phyllis Wood, Hubbard’s Point; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Ronnie and David; sister, Joan and sibling in infancy. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Friday, September 14, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 3 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev Kevin Myers and Rev Robert Gates officiated. Interment will take place at a later date in Riverview Cemetery on the Wilson Road. Donations in memory may be made to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation or the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund.
