Theresa I. Gallant
Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, September 30, 2018 of Theresa I. Gallant (nee DeCourcey) of Charlottetown, age 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Gallant and dear mother of Sharon MacGillivray (Paddy-deceased), Peter, Valerie Casford (Billy-deceased), Leo, Rosemary MacDonald (Marvin), Rita Coffin (Joseph), Noelle Green (Richard) and Tommy Campbell Gallant (Tammy). She is also survived by 17 loving grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister’s and brother, Leona MacDermid (Preston), Sr. Mary DeCourcey, CSM, Emmett DeCourcey (Bernice), Margaret O’Brien (George-deceased) and brother-in-law, Leslie Gallant. She was predeceased by her parents Leo and Elmira (Sanderson) DeCourcey and brothers, Kenneth, Cletus, Earl and Theophane DeCourcey. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Saturday, then transferred to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot in St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Cemetery. Visiting hours on Friday, October 5th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Members of the Catholic Women’s League will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Friday at 6:30 p.m. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Provincial Palliative Care Centre.
