It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Calvin Phillip “Nipper” Nippard age 69, on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the Northside General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Calvin was born in Lewisporte, Newfoundland, May 29, 1949, he was the son of the late Alexander and Nora (Burry) Nippard. He was employed for a number of years as a fisherman.
Calvin is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” (McGean); his children, Joanne (Tommy), Steven (Joyce), Crystal, Natasha (Stephen), Jackie (Marsha), Brandy (Jason); his twelve grandchildren, Chris, Bryan, Taylor, Cheyanne, Dylan, Austin, Jadyn, Shailynn, Corbyn, Owen, Jersey and Miranda; as well as six great-grandchildren, also by his five sisters, Fronnie, Triffie, Murtle, Glenda, Winnie, Hersey; four brothers, Artie, Malcolm, Truman and Tony; a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Calvin was predeceased by his first wife, Ann Marie (Wilson); sisters, Ina Reid and Dorothy Remo; brother, Morley Nippard.
By request there will be no visitation. A family service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 9th in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
