The death occurred suddenly at his late residence, on Monday, October 8, 2018, of Frederick (Fred) James Rennie, of Dock Road, age 78 years. Beloved husband of 56 years to Eva Isabell (nee MacKinnon) Rennie. Born on April 19, 1940, he was the son of the late Sydney and Beatrice (nee Matthews) Rennie. Loving father to Kimberly (Iver) Bowness of Huntley, Angela (William) Silverthorn of Elgin, N.B., and Kent (Diane) Rennie of Dock Road. Cherished grandfather to Brett (Brittany), Travis and Matthew Bowness, Bruce and Kent Silverthorn, Jake and Sydney Rennie. Fred will be sadly missed by his extended family of Jimmy, Ellen, Bailey and Christopher McAssey. Dear brother to Ferne (late Doug) Wallace of Alberton and Glen (Lorna) Rennie of Kensington. Also survived by his uncle Weldon (Jean) Rennie of Alma. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeanette (late Harold) Laybourne of Swift Currant, SK, Hillard (Rowena) McKinnon of Charlottetown, Willard (Judy) McKinnon of Stratford, Marjorie (Ivan) Leard of Summerside and Lorna (Malcolm) Ellis of West Point. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, James and Lorena (nee Strang) McKinnon and by a granddaughter Carolyn Dawn Rennie. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Friday morning from the Gordon Memorial United Church, Alberton, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Lynn McKinnon officiating. Interment in the Elmsdale United Church Cemetery.
