Michael "Mike" Alphonus Turnbull

It’s with much sadness that we, the family of Michael Alphonsus Turnbull (Mike), age 81, announce he passed away very peacefully on October 15, 2018, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital in Alberta. Michael was born in New Victoria, NS and was the son of the late Robert and Christina (Uloth) Turnbull. Mike was quite the handyman around the house and could fix or repair just about anything, he loved to go dancing on the weekends with his wife Kaye & their friends, he especially loved going to hear Dave Burke, afterward, there were many of parties at the house. Dad went into the coal mines at the age of thirteen and he worked right up to his retirement in 1987, he was known to be a very hard worker. Mike & Kaye moved out to Rocky Mountain House, Ab in 2007 to be with their family and resided there up until their death. Mike is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Titus) New Victoria, Michael Jr. (Helen) & David (Carla), both of Rocky Mountain House, AB. Also surviving are three brothers; Douglas, Sydney, Eddie (Betty) London, ON, & Ray (Dorothy) Halifax & sister, Barbie, USA. Dad was very sick during the last week of his life and was hospitalized, he got to enjoy the last few days of his life surrounded by lots of love from his family and especially enjoyed seeing everyone the day before he died during his birthday celebration. Dad told us all that weekend that he was ready for God to take him and he really wanted to be reunited with the love of his life Kaye. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Rocky Funeral Home; a celebration of Mike’s life will take place at a later date in 2019 in New Waterford at St. Leonard’s Parish.
