Passed peacefully away in the presence of her children and sister-in-law at G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Friday, October 19th, 2018, Margaret Vey of Long Beach, Trinity Bay, age 79 years. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Frank; parents Alfred and Mabel Hollett; siblings George, Gerald, Charlie, Grace, Geraldine, Bessie; and special uncle Henry Snowden. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children Bruce (Celeste) and Nadine (Justin) Strong; grandchildren Joshua Vey, Grace and Sidney Strong; brothers-in-law Ron, Cyril, Eldon (Alice); and sister-in-law Audrey Drodge; also numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and special friends. Margaret’s passion in life centered around her family and her nursing career. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in their achievements. Her compassion as a nurse was a comfort to her many patients and, through mutual respect and admiration, she maintained loving life long friendships with her nursing counterparts. Her love of gardening was evident in the colorful flowers that surrounded her house every season. She was an animal lover who cherished her many cats and dogs throughout her life. She enjoyed birdwatching and was very knowledgeable about the many different species that graced her garden every season. Heartfelt thanks to aunt Audrey whose faith and compassion provided much comfort to mom in her final hours. Remains resting at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Long Beach on Sunday, October 21 and on Monday, October 22, 2018. Funeral Service to take place on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. from St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Long Beach with interment to follow at St. Mark’s Anglican Cemetery, Long Beach. In her memory flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Long Beach.
