It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Isabel Andrea Paul. Isabel passed away peacefully on October 19, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney to Robert Paul and Isabel Francis, Isabel grew up in Membertou and was raised by her grandparents Frank and Bridget Herney.
A very social woman, Isabel was known for her great sense of humor and love of music. She was especially known for enthusiastically pulling out her harmonica and playing for any listening audience.
She is survived by her daughters, Bridget Denny and Paula Paul; her brother, Leonard; grandchildren, Marcella, Miranda (Mike), Amanda, Lynn (David), Dennis Gerard (Pamela), Jenny Lee (Umchilla), Leonard (Mary I), and Charlee (Shaun); great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kevin, Morgan, Eyan, Aaric, Jorja, Taylor, Conal, Logan, Jaelee, Jessika, Jaya, Javid, Haley, Charlie, Macy, Avery, Cassius, Lennox and Amaria. She will be missed by her only godchild, Joanie Paul, and her cat, McLovin.
Besides her grandparents and parents, Isabel was predeceased by her daughter, Bernice Rose Marshall; brothers, Michael, Noel, Raymond and Elmer; sisters, Loretta, Bridget and Mayme.
Visitation will take place at her home at 11 L'nu Ave. in Membertou starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Funeral Service will be held at St. Marguerite
Bourgeoys Parish on Thursday, October 25 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Bill Burke presiding. Cremation will take place after funeral services with burial at a later date. Salité at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre following Mass.
