It is with deep regret and sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Melvyn Lewis Ph.H., long time math professor at Memorial University, on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Dr. Lewis was 76 years of age. Predeceased by his wife Barbara Lewis (nee Kelly) 2015. Leaving to mourn his brother-in-law: Bob (Brigitte) Kelly; sister-in-law: Suzanne (Joseph) Lemak; good friends: Tom and Joan Strickland, Noel and Collen Lawlor, Hazel Harris and their families; as well as colleagues and students from Memorial University. At Melvyn’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home 73 Commonwealth Ave. Mt. Pearl on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Melvyn’s memory to the S.P.C.A. or to a charity of one’s choice.
