John “Omar” Younker
The death occurred peacefully at The Whisperwood Villa, Charlottetown, on Monday, October 22, 2018, of Omar Younker, husband of the late Verna Younker (nee Robinson), formerly of North Winsloe, aged 99. Omar was the loving father of Ralph (Rita), Myron (Glenn), Orral (Irene), Stephen (Donna), Vernon (Lila), Irwin (Darlene), Harvey (Florence), Eddy (Lorna), Carl (Joan) and Monica Cook. He is also survived by his 40 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy MacLeod, Virden Robinson (Naomi), Gerald Robinson (Eleanor) and Joyce Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Verna, he was predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Jessie (Ross) Younker; parents-in-law, George and Bertha (Vessey) Robinson; son, Owen; grandchildren, Alan Younker, Darren Younker, Stephen Younker and Lana Younker; great-grandson, Stephen Allan; brother, Lionel Younker (Florence); and brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl Robinson, Lillian Stewart, George Robinson, Eva Robinson, Waldo Stewart and Harold MacLeod. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 New Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, October 25, 2018, from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Winsloe United Church, on Friday, October 26, 2018, at 10 a.m. Interment in Winsloe North Cemetery.
