Jennifer Westhaver

Born: March 14th, 1951

Passed on: October 20th, 2018

It is with profound sadness, that we, the family of Jennifer Westhaver, have to announce her untimely passing; along with her daughter, Katie Westhaver, on October 20, 2018.
Born March 14, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Honey Donovan of Ingonish Beach.
Jennifer was the kindest, most gentle person one would have the privilege to know. She welcomed everyone into her home to have a hot meal, homemade baking or to rest their head. Her Boxing Day party was wall to wall people, and everyone wanted to attend. Jennifer somehow was able to feed half of Ingonish. She was one of a kind. Her life was devoted to her family. Her children and grandchildren were her entire world. Grandma's house was always a favorite; games, movies and treats could always be found.
Jennifer was also very proud of her years working as a CCA in Ingonish, Baddeck and Sydney. Her clients held a very special place in her heart.
Jennifer's pastime was spent playing cards, crocheting blankets for friends and family or working in her kitchen. When she wasn't home, she was finding live music to listen to or travelling to New Brunswick to spend time with her special friend, Darrell Hussey.
Jennifer is survived by her son, Mitchell (Tammy) Westhaver; grandchildren, Donovan, Eva and Charlee; son-in-law, Matthew Smith; sisters, Leona Stockley (George), Geraldine Walker (Calvin), Maria Stockley (Lonnie), Ruth Cipak (Steve), Maureen Sneddon (Perry), Jackie Hines (Dale) and brothers, Peter Donovan (Ginny) and Paul Donovan (Joanne); special aunt, Mary Doyle; her Westhaver family, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jennifer was predeceased by husband, James (Jim); son, Andrew; parents, Harvey and Honey Donovan; sisters, Elaine Titus and Angela Hines and brother, Leon in infancy.
She left this world with her beautiful daughter, Katie by her side. Mothers and daughters have a special bond, unlike any other... together, forever.
Visitation for Jennifer Westhaver will be held Friday, October 26, 2018, from 12 - 2 p.m. in St. Peter's Parish Church in Ingonish Beach.
The funeral Mass will take place at 2 p.m. in the church, with Fr. Alphonsus Iwuji and Fr. Paul MacGillivray officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery.
A reception will be held at Smokey Recreation Building (Ingonish Rink), following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennifer’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
