ARCHIBALD, Lovena “Grace” Age 96, of Windsor, passed away peacefully in the R.E.A.L. Residence Care Home, Windsor. Born on March 12, 1922 in Truro, she was a daughter, and the last surviving member of a family of six children, of the late Ernest B. and Bessie G. (Reid) MacElmon. Grace was an active member of what used to be Trinity United and is now Windsor United Church. She was Past President of Windsor Curling Club, Past Secretary of Windsor Ladies Golf Club and Past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge No. 59. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, crafts, cards, crosswords and doing the Lexicon in the weekly Herald. She also enjoyed travelling and especially loved her winter trips to Florida and spending her summers at the cottage. Grace is survived by her daughter, Darlene Moore; grandsons, Ron (Vicki), Jason (Lori) and Adrian (Inez); great-grandchildren, Bridget, Amy, Parker, Amelia, Edward and Dolores; niece, Carol. Besides her parents and siblings, Grace was predeceased by her husband, Frederick M. Archibald; son, Laurie Archibald and son-in-law, Neil Moore. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Carrie and Staff at the R.E.A.L. Care Home for the compassion and care given to Grace during her stay with them. Arrangements were entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There was no visitation by request. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, in Windsor United Church, 613 King St., Windsor, Rev. David Hann officiated. Private family interment immediately followed in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. A reception was held in the Church Annex. Donations in memory of Grace may be made to Windsor United Church, PO Box 2037, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 or a charity of one’s choice.
