David Rupert Fowler passed peacefully away surrounded by his family at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s on Friday, November 2, 2018, at the age of 73 years. Dave was a loving husband, father, grandfather, entrepreneur, teacher, and mentor to many. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Sadie, his brothers Ron and Noel, sister Margaret (Carrigan), and his brother-in-law Bill Power. He will always be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 47 years Anne Marie (Power), his three sons Stephen (Carrie), Joseph (Kathryn), Daniel (Amy), his daughter Catherine, and his eight wonderful grandchildren Kyle, Cecilia, William, Paige, Evelyn, Alex, Benjamin, and Vivienne. Also mourning Dave’s loss are his brothers Frank (Patty), Cy (Donna), his sister Barbara (Roger Greenwood), brother-in-law Ron Carrigan, sister-in-law Irina, brothers-in-law Charlie (Carol) Power, Rick (Pat) Power, John Power, Chris (Cheryl) Power, Bob (Debbie) Power, sisters-in-law Margaret (Rod) Buchanan and Linda Fong, very special friends Terry and Suzanne Stack and their children Andrea, Jonathan, and Katie (Power). Also left to mourn are many nephews and nieces, fellow members of the Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest, and many past and present friends and colleagues. A very special thank you to the Hematology team and the wonderful caring nurses of 4 North A at the Health Sciences Centre. Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home on Freshwater Road Monday and Tuesday, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Military Road on Wednesday at 9:30 am with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
