Wilma Ruth (nee Wood) MacLean

Died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, November 12, 2018 after a sudden illness of Wilma Ruth MacLean (nee Wood), age 82 years. Survived by her husband The Reverend Ian MacLean and her children Sue, Judy and Tom (Alex). Sister Janet McMurtry. Nannie to Ryan, Emma, Meghan, Malcolm, Sadie and Benjamin. Great-nannie to Branson. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her infant daughter Margaret Ellen and infant son Andrew, parents Wendell and Ella Wood and parents-in-law The Reverend Frank and Margaret MacLean. Beloved by the MacLean, McMurtry, Coles and Edwards families. Wilma was a graduate of Central Royalty School, Prince of Wales College, Dalhousie University and the Maritime School of Social Work. She was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a lover of music, an accomplished pianist/organist, a dedicated humanitarian committed to “doing justly, loving mercy, walking humbly with God”. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Funeral Thursday from Trinity United Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only, however If so desired, memorials to Trinity United Church or the charity of choice, would be appreciated. No visitation by personal request.
