Catherine Janette Beaver

It is with great sadness that the family of Catherine Janette Beaver of Brickyard Road, Albert Bridge, announce her passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.
Born October 2, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Hector and Annie Woodworth of Catalone. Janette worked with Parks Canada, Visitor Services at the Fortress of Louisbourg, retiring with 29 years of service. She was a devoted member of First United Church, Louisbourg and a life member of the United Church Women. Janette’s church family meant so much to her and she appreciated all their kindness and prayers during the past few months of her illness. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Duncan; son, Stephen Dowling; daughter, Cathy (Darrell) Cross; and her three grandchildren, Emma (Michael) Spawn, Edward (Elizabeth MacCormick) and Elizabeth (Coady) Slaunwhite. Janette is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Bonnie Woodworth and Charlene (the late Ron) Anderson; brother-in-law, Darryl (Geraldine) Beaver; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Janette was predeceased by her brother, Aulay Woodworth and her daughter, Carol Dowling. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at First United Church, Main Street, Louisbourg on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Emily Duggan officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held at Calvin Memorial Hall. Interment will take place at Loch End Cemetery, Catalone. Memorials in her memory may be made to First United Church, Louisbourg or Loch End Cemetery, Catalone.
