Jean Catherine (nee McLean) Stevenson Jean Catherine (nee McLean) Stevenson

April 15,1939-November 20, 2018
It's with great sadness and broken hearts Jean's family announce her passing. Jean leaves her husband of 59 years, Brian, to mourn her loss. She'll forever be remembered by her children: Derek (Ginny) of Ladner BC, Vaughan (Lucy Lou) of Rycroft AB, Kimberley Ann (Reg) of Calgary AB and Garth (Jane) of Liverpool NS. She will be missed by her granddaughters Cara Nicole, Sarah Jane and Annalise. Jean is survived by sister in laws Heather (Ed) Bergsma, Langley BC, Caroline (Clem), Antigonish NS and cousin Marylee (Bobby) Inverness NS. Mom is predeceased by her own mother, Lena McLean, brother Gerald MacLean and adopted parents Margaret and Smith Austin, all of Cape Breton. Jean will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humor, bridge skills and love of Shi Tzus, especially Boo and Jake. Mom loved her Bridge family very much. Thank you to all the ladies and gents who welcomed Jean and Brian into their community. Long time residents of New Haven, PEI Jean and Brian retired to Liverpool NS in 2005. Born in Grand Anse, Cape Breton; Jean was always a Cape Breton girl at heart. She'll finally go "home" in the Spring of 2019. The family are grateful for the amazing care Jean and her family received from the ICU teams at both Victoria General and Halifax Infirmary. You all held our hands through the most difficult hours of our lives. Catherine and Susan, we will never forget you. Jean loved flowers, however, in lieu of flowers if so desired donations in her name can be made to Queen's SPCA. Celebration of Jean's Life will be held Saturday, November 24 at Lane's Privateer Inn, Liverpool from 2pm to 4pm.
