Nelson Henry Caseley

Nelson Henry Caseley of Summerside and formerly of Kensington passed away at Prince County Hospital on December 25 in his 95th year. Veteran of the Second World War. He was born in Margate, PEI on April 1, 1924 to parents Heath and Ethel (Clark) Caseley. He was the husband of Ruth (Woodside), and father of Elizabeth, Paul and Brian. He is survived by children: Elizabeth (Roger) Ironmonger, Lake Cowichan, BC; Brian (Cathy) Caseley, Mill Bay, BC; grandchildren Tracey, Christine, Nelson, & Heath; great-grandchildren Summerlynn, Macalister, Mackenzie, Tiffany and Amanda; as well as 4 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters-in law Margaret Woodside, Burlington and Valerie Woodside, Margate; brothers-in law, Charlie Schurman, Summerside; Donald Woodside, Sea View; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Ruth and his son Paul. Also predeceased by his brother and sisters and their spouses: Marjorie Caseley, Edith and Bruce Riley, Velda and Earle Hogg, Anna and Douglas MacMurdo, Willa and Ralph Somers, Clark and Dorothy Caseley, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Phyllis and Lyall Hawkins, Douglas Woodside, George and Rena Pickering, Bonnie Schurman, Barbara Harris, Ina Woodside, Ross Woodside, and Scott Woodside. Nelson was blessed to have many nieces and nephews and other family who regularly visited him during his time at Parkhill Place which was his home for seven years and more recently Clinton View Lodge. A special thanks to each of them and to the staff at Parkhill and Clinton View for the love and care they provided. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home in Kensington. No visiting hours by request. Funeral Saturday in The Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Reception to follow in The Murray Christian Centre of the Kensington United Church. Private family interment in the People’s Cemetery Kensington.
