After a very full and active life, Pauline Mary Brophy (née Nurse) passed away on Monday, December 24 at 9:30 pm at the Pavillon Andre Brunet in Kirkland, Quebec. She was 93. Pauline grew up in St. John’s, Newfoundland and spoke lovingly of her life on “The Rock”. She moved to Montreal as a young woman, where she met her husband, Cyril Brophy. They settled in the West Island and raised two children, Kathleen and Colin. Pauline was an avid reader and poet, loved swimming, and enjoyed bridge. She was the beloved sister of Robert, Cyril and Enid. Pauline is survived by her brother Robert (Paquerette), daughter Kathleen (Paul) and son Colin (Alice), her four grandchildren Mairin (Dave), Jonathan, Christopher (June), and Nianne (Nick), and two great-grandchildren Ophelia and Roxanne. At Pauline’s request there will be no public service, however donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
