Annie Louise REDDICK

New Glasgow - Sunrise: Oct. 20, 1931. Sunset: Dec. 20, 2018. Annie Louise Reddick, of 306 Frederick St., New Glasgow, passed away on December 20, 2018, at the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Jessie (Paris) Desmond.
A member of Second United Baptist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary, Trustee Board, Social and Nominating Committee and the AUBA, Annie was well-known for her work on various committees and organizations in the county. She was Past President of the following: Br. 34 Royal Canadian Legion; Mixed Dart League and Ladies Auxiliary; Chairperson of Br. 34 Seniors Bingo; Choir Member; as well as serving in many offices of the Branch. She was a founding member of Ward One Social and Recreation, New Glasgow; one of the founding members of the New Glasgow Black Gala Homecoming; Past President of WMS, the Local Council of Women, Citizens of Crime Prevention and New Glasgow Youth Centre. Annie was recognized and received numerous awards for dedicated service and volunteering in her community and organizations by the following: Sports and Recreation Commission of NS; Government of Canada; Town of New Glasgow; Sunset Haven; Glen Haven Manor; Br. 34 Royal Canadian Legion; New Glasgow Youth Centre and Second United Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons: Ellery Dale (Cindy); Charles (Debbie); and John “Gubba” (Shirley); grandsons: Jason, Joey, Justin, Brandon, Cody and Jonathan; granddaughter, Holly; 6 great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Dyllan, Ethan, Jayden, Lyric and Carter; 1 great-great-grandchild, Elijah; sister, Marg (Bob), Montreal; brothers: Jim (Linda), Kingston; Clarence “Diddy” (Doreen), Moncton.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Reddick Sr.; sisters: Isabelle, Bessie, Eileen, Evelyn and Shirley; brothers: Alfie, Louis, Francis, George, Doug and Ern Johnson; in-laws: Resair and Gertrude Reddick.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Tuesday, January 8, 2019, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Going Home Service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Second United Baptist Church, New Glasgow, with Rev. Dr. Morley Shaw officiating. Spring burial will take place at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in Annie’s name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent by visiting: www.rhporter.ca
