It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Caroline Marie Yipp (Brewster) age 67, of Sydney, Nova Scotia on December 21, 2018 at Sydney, NS.
Born in Glace Bay, Marie was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Isabelle Brewster. Marie is survived by sons, Booker, Sydney and Michael (Heather), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Erin, Tyler, Olivia and Isaac; great-grandchildren, Owen, Abigail, Dallas, Carmen and Kenai. Marie will also be missed by her nieces and nephews.
Marie was one of nine children, sisters, Beverley(Toronto), Theresa (George) Glace Bay, Sandra(Charles), Halifax, Pamela, Glace Bay; brothers, Raymond (Diane), Glace Bay, Shane (Sonya) Halifax, and Paddy (Susan), Glace Bay, Bonnie Rachael (deceased).
Her dear friend, Claire Bickerton and her extended Inverness family, the Hartfords and the Yipps, also survive Marie.
Marie was a vivacious, caring and loving person who gave a lot of herself to her family, friends, and community. She loved her profession as a hairstylist, which she did with passion for over 30 years. She will be missed by her friends and clients at Slicks where she served the wonderful people of Eskasoni/Membertou and surrounding areas for over 20 years.
A Memorial Mass will take place 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Holy Family Parish, Eskasoni with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiating.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 with DLM Nancy Whitney Latham officiating at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199) with a reception to follow.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers or donations that you share your time with loved ones to cherish each other laughing and celebrating in memory of our dear Marie.
