KAJ, Isabel Joan, age 78, Dartmouth, formerly of Corner Brook, NL, passed away January 17, 2019 in QEII Health Sciences VG Site, after complications from cancer. Born in Petries, Curling, NL, she was a daughter of the late Isabella (MacLennan) and Alex Dunphy. Isabel cared for youth for many years while working for the John Howard Society. She was known for her kindness, generosity and sense of humour. She enjoyed cooking a good meal for friends, and was well known for her bread making. Isabel was also a very talented artist, and enjoyed travelling with her best friend Carmel Cowan. She is survived by daughter, Lisa (Paul) Hatcher, Dartmouth; son, Edward Kaj, Thunder Bay; beloved daughter in-law, Mabel; grandchildren, Kathleen and Thomas Hatcher; Edward Kaj. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held 4 – 7 PM Tuesday January 22 at her daughter’s residence, 37 Coventry Lane.
