It is with heavy hearts and overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of our precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Charlotte Ann (Marie) Swinamer, on January 21, 2019 peacefully at Glen Haven Manor.

Born July 11, 1937 in Sonora, Guysborough County to the late John and Lottie Jack (Jack), she was one of 10 children. In 1959, Marie met and soon after married her one true love, John (Walter) Swinamer who she had longed for since his recent passing. After residing in Toronto in their younger years, the two settled with their family in Eureka, Pictou County. Marie spent numerous years working in the kitchen at Valley View Villa however, her skills were perfected in her own kitchen specifically, with her oat cakes and fudge.

Marie had many talents which her children and grandchildren were fortunate to enjoy and will carry on for years to come. Crocheting, knitting, baking and cooking were just a few of her specialties. When not found in the kitchen preparing for bake sales with her secret fudge recipe, she could be found in her favorite chair next to Walter working on her latest craft project. Marie and Walter spent countless years camping at the DB Camp Ground in Black Point, where they acquired lifelong friendships and memories.

She always enjoyed a good laugh and was up for anything. Marie stayed active with being a member of the 55+ plus club for several years. When she was not on the go she could be found entertaining family and friends for cards and games at home. In the recent years, Marie always looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed her Sunday visits with her brother Terry.

Marie leaves behind to mourn, children Susan (Murray) Kean, Debbie Swinamer Wood, Wally, Rick (Roxanne), grandchildren Darcy, Ashley, Bradley, Brianna, Taylor, Grace and Ross, great grandchildren Charlie and Oliver. Also, chosen daughter Debbie Walsh.

Arrangements have been made with H. W. Angus Funeral Home New Glasgow. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Thursday January 24,2019. Funeral service will be Friday January 25, 2018 at 2 pm at the funeral home chapel. Burial to follow at the Riverton Cemetery
Donations in Marie's name may be made to the Riverton Cemetery or charity of ones choice.
