Mary Charlotte Malcolm

On January 21ST we said goodbye to our mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. We got to enjoy Mom in our lives for many years as she turned 90 last July. Mary Charlotte Malcolm, age 90, of Sydney, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Antigonish, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Jane MacGillivray.
Mom was our rock, our confidant and most of all our friend. Mary was a longtime resident of the Shipyard and enjoyed her chats with the ladies and lifelong friends made at Claddagh House. Mary was the honorary mom of the neighbourhood, whose open-door policy made everyone feel welcomed and loved. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Branch 12 legion, the KOC and a longtime member of the CWL.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Laurentia (Scott); sons, Lawrence (Nancy), Robert, Gerard (Beth); daughter-in-law, Marilyn; sisters, Mary Margaret (Phil), Florence, Elizabeth, Marie, Vincy (George); brother, Buddy (Laura); grandchildren, Tim (Katelyn), Alisha (Jordan), Stephanie (Kevin), Reilly, Sophia, Kevin, Emma, Maggie, Jennifer (Chris), Heather (Kyle), and great-grandchildren, Quinn and Teegan.
She was predeceased by her husband, George; son, Donald; sisters, Rosemary, Catherine and Sr. Christine; brothers-in-law, Billy and Frank.
