JACQUARD, Rose Emma – age 82, Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, formerly of Yarmouth, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 with her “kid sister” Fran, and her best friend Jerry (Gerald Muise) by her side. Born in Woodvale to parents Thomas and Adèle (Saulnier) Deveau, Rose worked as a nurse at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital for some 30 years in pediatrics physical therapy and finally as activity director at Tidal View Manor. She retired at 50 to pursue private nursing, mostly palliative care. She took great pride in her work. In her spare time she loved quilting and walking on the beach. She was predeceased by her husband Stephen; infant daughter, Stephanie; brothers, Edward, Wilfred, Roger, Emile and Leo Deveau; sisters, Genevieve Comeau and Isabelle Eisnor. Rose leaves to mourn her companion Jerry (Gerald Muise); her sisters, Fran (Doug) Upton, Yarmouth; Delores LeBlanc, Salmon River and Lucille Khetab, Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton. There was no visitation by request. The funeral Mass took place at St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral, Yarmouth on Wednesday, February 6 at 10 a.m., Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. A reception followed in the Jubilee Room (downstairs at the Cathedral). Interment took place in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Comeau’s Hill. A big heartfelt thank you to Dr. Webster for the help and guidance in Rose’s journey and a very special thanks to all the staff at the Villa St. Joseph for the care given to Rose - God bless!
