Frances Rhodina (MacNeil) MacLennan

Frances Rhodina MacLennan (Nee MacNeiL) passed away peacefully at Harbourstone Enhanced Care on February 13, 2019 at the age of 97.
Born July 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Allan Austin MacNeil and Sarah MacNeil of Gillis Point, Cape Breton, NS.
She was a devout member of the Immaculate Heart Parish, Mira Road and a long serving member of the CWL.
Frances will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sarah Cote (late Adrian), Allan (Connie), Malcie (Sandra), Mary MacMaster (Ron), Alex (Val), Cecelia McArthur (Albert), Mona Pottle (Bryan), Frankie Tobin (Mike), Colleen Hagell (Philip); 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way. Also surviving is sister, Lucille MacKenzie (late Johnnie); brother, Murdock ‘Buddy’ (late Betty) (Margaret); brother-in-law, Dan Dougall MacLennan (Isabel) and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Malcolm; sisters, Cecelia Fahey (late Pat), Betty Driscoll (late John), Chrissy Fitzgerald (late Fitzy) and brothers, Joseph (Edna) and Stan (Kaye).
Frances attended Normal College in Truro, NS receiving her teaching degree. Mom had a great faith that she passed on to her children. Mom opened her heart and her home welcoming everyone. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Mira Bay, Harbourstone; whom she loved as her own.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 17 from 2-5 p.m. at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 18 at 2 p.m. at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
