Frank McCready

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Frank’s life here on earth on February 15, 2019, at the CBRH surrounded by his loving family.
Born on New Years Eve 1948, in North Sydney, to the late Arnold and Mary (Etheridge) McCready.
Frank, 70, loved life to the fullest, loved to have fun, tell jokes and was the best storyteller. The life of the party. His magnetic personality attracted people and everyone that knew him loved to be around him. He had the biggest heart and the most positive person despite his health issues. The strongest person we know.
Frank worked for DEVCO for 34 years until his retirement. Frank loved to play and watch sports he was a goalie and an avid Blackhawks fan! A musician, singer, songwriter. He loved to be on the water whether boating or scuba diving or beach combing. He loved history, trivia and reading. Kids in the community know him as coach, umpire, cub and beaver leader. Active in KOC and a Kinsmen. He was a Legion member and loved to go to his weekly darts. We are heartbroken he is not here with us but we know he is reunited with Paddy Jim and all his friends and family that passed on, most likely enjoying a beer.
Frank is survived by his wife, Theresa, married in 1973. Son, Jason (Wanda); daughter, Melanie (Colin) and Michael Matthews. Brother, Mick; grandchildren, Jordan, Arlen, Isabella and Andreea. Nieces, nephews and Many friends. He loved his dog Mandy Culan and cat smokey. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Pat and brother, Arnold.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Frank’s life will take place at Holy Family Parish in Sydney Mines on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 10 a.m., with Fr. James Oliver officiating. Reception to follow in the parish hall.
