Russell BLACK - TRUEMAN

The family of Russell Black Trueman, age 91 of Centennial Villa, Amherst are saddened to announce his passing on Friday March 8th, 2019 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, with his loving family by his side. Russell was born and lived in the same house for 91 years where he raised his family in Truemanville, NS. He was the son of the late Leon and Oressa (Black) Trueman. Russell and Hilda both spent many happy summers with their family at the cottage in Northport, NS. Russell worked for Robbs Engineering in Amherst for 37 years. After his retirement he enjoyed many hours in the woods and his workshop, he loved working with wood. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Beverley (Stewart) Smith of
Truemanville NS, Bruce (Evelyn) of Warren NS, Roger (Wendy) of Calgary, AB, Dean and Dana (Shawn) of Amherst; grandchildren Geoffrey (Karen), Michael, Colin (Trisha), Mitchell, Patrick and Kelly; great grandchildren Kayla, Ava, Olivia, Owen, Shannon, Chelsey and Colson; as well as extended families. Besides Russell’s parents, he is predeceased by wife Hilda (Fage); son Gordon and sister Louise Trueman. Cremation has taken place. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by funeral service at 2:00 pm all from Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906. K. Ruth Gamble, DLM officiating. Reception to follow. Interment will take place at a later date in the Truemanville Cemetery, where he will rest with his wife, Hilda. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations in Russell’s memory can be made to the Cumberland Hospice Society or the Truemanville Cemetery.
