Zita Christine Graham

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Zita Christine Graham on Friday March 22, 2019 at her home in Sydney. Zita was born in Glace Bay to the late Wilfred and Neila Mackinnon.
After meeting the love of her life, the late Gordon Hewitt Graham of Toronto, she travelled throughout Canada, living in Clinton, ON, Moosonee, ON, Gander, NFLD, Sydney, NS, and Penhold, AB, she then resettled in her favorite place; Cape Breton.
She worked extensively with government employment. She loved her art, craftwork and sewing. Zita’s products were sold throughout Canada. Zita treasured her family and will be missed by all of her children, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many family and friends.
Zita is survived by her family Susan Ratchford, and son Ryan (Krista), Ken (Adele) and children Jessica, Kendra and Robyn; Darren (Debee) and children Gord (Michelle) and Jill (Matt) and Greg (Sheryl) and children Nicole, Amanda and Alex; Zita (Ron) Stanley and their sons Jacob and Elijah.
She is also survived by her loving sisters and brother, Lavina Musgrave, Neila Mackinnon and Rick (Janet) Mackinnon. Zita will especially miss her friends, Rita, Carmella and Joyce.
Zita is predeceased by her parents; husband, and brothers, Wilfred and Jimmy of Glace Bay.
A funeral service will be held at TW Curry Parkview Chapel on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Bill Burke presiding. Donations may be made to Mass for Shut-ins.
