Lillian “Jean” (Mackenzie) Rogers, 86, a longtime resident of Framingham died Sunday May 12, 2019 after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family. Born on Prince Edward Island, Canada, the daughter of the late Clarence & Florence (MacAulay) Mackenzie, she is the beloved wife of Charles H. Rogers.
Jean and Charlie met at the Temple Baptist Church in Boston where they married in 1961, and spent the rest of their lives worshipping and serving in the congregation. Jean and Charlie settled in Framingham in 1964 where they raised their 2 daughters.
A strong Christian woman, Jean was a faithful servant of the Lord, volunteering, and helping in any capacity she could. She was determined and feisty when she needed to be. Jean loved her trips home to P.E.I every summer, and more than anything enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her loving husband Charlie, Jean is survived by her daughters, Leslie J. Lee & her husband Kenneth of Framingham, and Laurie J. Rogers of Walpole, her grandchildren, Andrea, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Saige, and many nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her grandson, Tobias, and her siblings, John, Hazel, Elizabeth, and Helen.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jean’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Monday, May 20th from 4 – 7 P.M. A celebration of life service will be held at Tremont Temple Baptist Church, 88 Tremont Street in Boston on Tuesday, May 21st at 11:00 am.
