Rose Marion (Fitzpatrick) Kerbrat
December 30, 1931 – November 3, 2018

Rose passed away peacefully and quietly in her own bed at The Maples Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, Manitoba on the afternoon of November 3, 2018 at the age of 86 years.
Born Rose Madore on December 30, 1931 in Woods Island, Newfoundland, Rose was raised by her grandparents Nicholas and Bridget Madore. She moved to Corner Brook, Newfoundland to attend school. Throughout her life she called several places home, such as North Sydney, NS, Marystown, NL, Thompson, Leaf Rapids, Brandon and Winnipeg, MB.
While living in Marystown, NL and having 14 children, Rose still found time to serve on committees and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League. Later on she taught religion classes to the children in Leaf Rapids, and was always active in the church remaining a member of the CWL until her death. She worked at the YWCA, Don Johnson’s Jewellery store and a medical clinic in Thompson, MB.
Rose expressed many times that her fondest memories were the birth of each of her children and she said if she could live her life over she would probably do it all the same. She said her greatest inspiration was any time one of her children accomplished anything. Rose was very proud of her children and lived for them. She was happiest when having a family dinner, first communion celebration, graduation, or a wedding.
Rose’s hobbies included knitting, quilting, baking, playing cards and bowling.
She loved to travel and some of her favorite places were Corner Brook, NL and Florida, USA.
Rose is predeceased by her Mother Tillie Clarke, two husbands Phil Fitzpatrick and Bob Kerbrat, three children, one daughter-in-law and one grandson.
Left to cherish her memory are 11 children Phyllis (Graham), Nick (Lenore), Fred (Cindy), Gerard (Joan), Carl, Debbie, Rob (Marie), Louis (Jackie), Philip, Paul, AnnMarie, 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
In accordance with Rose’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held in Winnipeg in December.
A funeral mass and burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Marystown, NL on June 25th, 2019 at 1030 am. Lunch will follow in the basement of the church and all are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, Rose’s family would like it if you would do a random act of kindness for somebody in need or consider making a donation to a charity of your choice. Rose would like that.
We were so very lucky to have had Rose for so many years and will miss her greatly but know that she is happy with her heavenly family.
