It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our amazing mother, Margaret Heron, on Sunday, June 5, 2011 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.
Born on April 25, 1931 in Sydney, N.S., she was a daughter of James and Annie MacPhee.
She will always be remembered by her children, Tish (David) Tunney, Sydney, Cathy (Owen) Grant, Ft. McMurray, Mick, Antigonish, Bobby, Ft. McMurray, Susan (Stephen) Doiron, Pomquet, Paula (Marty) Murrin, Halifax, Pam (Richard Lassalle), Vancouver; her grandchildren, Tracey, Alisha, Garrett, D.J., Julie, Skye, Stephanie, Aimee, Andrew, Alynn; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Joseph, Rita, Jean, Tommy, Donnie, Jimmie, Annie and Kathleen and her dear friend, Sadie Kennedy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick; sister, Nin.
Margie worked in the Pathology Department of St. Martha’s Regional Hospital for more than 25 years. Widowed young, she demonstrated the importance of family values and strength of character through her perseverance in single-handedly raising her seven children. She was admired for her pride in her home, positive attitude, subtle wit, and love of animals. In her retirement years her greatest pleasure was her relationship with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Words cannot describe the loss we feel. We will miss her greatly.
