SULIS, Eva Blanch
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eva Sulis on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre. Eva had a courageous five-year battle with cancer that she fought to the end. She leaves behind her children, Craig (Kathie), Sherye (Michael), and Judith (Patrick); her three grandchildren, Kristle (Mallory), Christopher (Brogan) and Rebecca (Logan) and great grandson, Cairo. Eva enjoyed being from a large and close family of 16 siblings and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Weymouth, Nova Scotia and enjoyed many happy visits with her family and friends. Her brothers and sisters have been so supportive to Eva and her family over the last few years with constant contact and visits to PEI which has meant so much to her and her family. Eva was a very independent and strong woman who raised her children while running a hair salon from her home since the early 1970’s. The tea pot was always on for her many friends who stopped by for a hair appointment or a visit. She was an active member of the IODE for 47 years. For those who knew her, Eva loved to play cards, bingo or any kind of game. Because of this, she had many groups of friends all over PEI who also spent time with her in the last few months in palliative care. Her family is so grateful for the wonderful care she received from the QEH, PPC and the many family and friends who supported her throughout her illness. The staff of the Provincial Palliative Care Centre welcomed us with kindness and caring and we feel like it was our second home for her time there, we cannot thank you enough for all you have done. Rested at Belvedere Funeral Home where the Celebration of Life service was held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, June 22 at 10:30 am. Visitation was Friday, June 21, 4-7 pm. Memorial donations may be made to IODE Lady Holland Chapter. www.belvederefh.com
