Bradley Rahey

We, the family of the late Brad Rahey, wish to express our deepest gratitude to all our relatives and friends, both near and far, who offered support during our recent loss. To those who sent messages of condolence, Mass cards, flowers, memorial donations, and all of those who attended the wake and funeral, dear neighbours and friends who brought food to our home, thank you to all. It was greatly appreciated.

We wish to thank Chief Travais Briand of Georges River Volunteer Fire Department, and Chief Lloyd MacIntosh of North Sydney Fire Department as well as the surrounding departments of the Cape Breton Regional Fire Service for their beautiful show of support before Brad’s passing. You will never know how much Brad enjoyed seeing each and every one of you; you put a smile on his face in such a difficult time. Also a special thank you to the ladies auxiliary of the Georges River Fire Hall for the luncheon put on after the service.

Thank you to Peter and the staff of W.J Dooley Funeral Home. Your care and compassion was greatly appreciated.

Thank you to Rev. A Maroun for officiating the service, the choir for their wonderful singing, and to Brandon Day for his rendition of You Raise Me Up. Thank you to the readers, Patrick Henick, Isabel Rahey-Tobin and Ronnie Rahey. To Brad’s special niece April Pero thank you for the beautiful eulogy.

To the pallbearers – Andrew Miller, Mike Moores, Jordan MacDonald, Gary Latimer, Ken Jardine and Harold MacLeod, we cannot thank you enough for standing with Brad as pallbearers and walking him to his final resting place. He would have been so touched as you have all been a dear friend to him.

Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff from the palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the Cape Breton Regional Cancer Centre. A very special thank you to Dr. Blair Williams and Dr. John Kirkpatrick for your care during Brad’s illness. Brad spoke very highly of you both.

To Dr. George Burns, Dr. Anne Francis D’Intino, and Susan Mackenzie RN, Mary Ruth Joseph RN as well as the nurses of the VON, thank you for your special gift of allowing us to spend Brad’s final days at home with his family and friends. For that we are forever grateful.

Your kindness and support will always be remembered.

Sincerely,

Jo Anne, Chloe, Lindsey and Cole Rahey and sister Beverly Haggett and family.
